Rocky Mountain BMW Drivers School

High Plains Raceway

About this event

WELCOME!   Rocky Mountain Chapter BMW CCA is thrilled to present our May 2025 Spring High-Performance Driving School (HPDE). This 1-day school provides a unique opportunity to drive your car at speed and to experience the thrill of becoming one with your car. The school is open to all current BMW CCA members who hold a full operator's license that does not require another qualified party to be a passenger in the vehicle for the license to be considered valid. Contact our Chief Driving Instructor first if you are an individual under the age of 18 to proceed with registration: chief.instructor@rmcbmwcca.org

Overview: This full-course HPDE is safe, demanding, and most importantly FUN! All students will alternate between classroom sessions and time on the track with an assigned instructor. Individualized instruction is a key to this program that has been developed over decades.

Registration Deadline: This event's registration will close at 7:00 pm on May 17, 2025.  After this time, you are welcome to contact us for opportunities to volunteer, but we will not accept registrations after this date unless special arrangements have been approved by our Chief Driving Instructor.

Pricing:  The following fees will be immediately charged to your credit card at registration on Motorsportreg.

Wait-list:  Our school is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are wait-listed, continue your preparations (for example, tech inspection) as if you were registered for the school. We often have last-minute cancelations, so there is a good chance that you will get in.

Vehicle Requirements: Most makes and models of vehicles are allowed at RMC Driving Schools with appropriate tech inspection. You do not have to have a BMW. However, for trucks, SUVs, and convertibles read our FAQ (https://rmcbmwcca.org/hpde/driving-schools/frequently-asked-questions/) and Driving School Manual (https://rmcbmwcca.org/hpde/driving-schools/#driving-school-manual) which cover this topic in greater detail.

Car Number Guidelines: You will be prompted to enter your car number when you register. This number will be assigned to you for this school. Numbers are assigned, first-come, first-served. In the event of a conflict, the second driver will be asked to modify their number to something unique in their run group.

Student-Run Groups:  Students are assigned to one of four Run Groups (A, B, C, or D) commensurate with their experience. D is for beginners, and A is the most advanced run group. The groupings are based on relative pace and are intended to minimize the speed disparity within each group. Therefore, a student may be assigned to one group higher or lower than they were at a previous school. Look for your run group when you get your schedule to see when and where you need to be during the day.

A-Solo Run Group: Experienced A-group drivers have the option to drive in the A-Solo Run Group with the approval of the Chief Instructor. Contact the Chief Instructor at chief.instructor@rmcbmwcca.org for approval before registering.
